Thank you to all the participants in ESERA 2011 held at the Cité de congrès in Lyon from 5-9 September.

Our particular thanks to the president, Cathérine Bruguière, member of S2HEP, for her excellent work in organising this conference. With over 1200 participants from 60 different countries, it is Europe's largest conference in science education. Held every two years, this was the first time the conference has taken place in France.
